Jennifer Bowen Hicks – Writing

Bio

Jennifer Bowen is a writer whose essays and stories appear in Orion, The Sun, Kenyon Review, The Iowa Review, The Rumpus, The Normal School, Tin House and elsewhere. She’s received a tuition scholarship from Rona Jaffe for the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, a Jerome Foundation Travel Award, and more. Her work has been honored with Best American Essay Notable mention, a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, the Arts & Letters Prize, Tim McGinnis Award and others. She’s the founder and Artistic Director of the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop. She lives in St. Paul with her sons and teaches creative writing in prisons throughout the state. Her dog loves you.
